Featuring some different works by Montana artist Michael Meissner.

"Cool Dudes" is a whimsical collection of historical

Cool Custer "Cool Custer"

Cool Chief Josep "Cool Chief Joseph"
Brilliant strategist and leader of the Nez Perce tribe, "cooled" up a bit. Joseph defeated the US Cavalry at the Battle of the Bighole River in southwestern Montana. Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool Franklin "Cool Franklin"
Benjamin Franklin, famous inventor and one of the founding fathers of the United States of America. Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool Geronimo "Cool Geronimo"
The legendary and passionately rebellious leader of the Apache tribe in the southwestern United States. In this cartoon he is seen with an M-16/A1 rifle... choice of US and allied troops today. If he'd really had one... perhaps things would have turned out a little differently. Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool Grant "Cool Grant"
General Ulysses S. Grant, famed Commander of the Union Army during the Civil War, later to become President of the United States. Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool JFK "Cool JFK"
President John F. Kennedy, a beloved and visionary President of the United States in the early 1960's. Remembered for many things, among them his leadersip during the "Cuban Missile Crisis", and his commitment to place a man on the moon before the end of that decade. Cool Lee "Cool Lee"
General Robert E. Lee, famous General of the Confederate forces during the Civil War, or as the southeners may have said, the "War of Northern Aggression". Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool Lincoln "Cool Lincoln"
President Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States throughout the Civil War. Lincoln was a self-educated man that was highly respected for his wisdom and uncommon common sense. Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool Mt. Rushmore "Cool Mt. Rushmore"
Famous landmark located in the badlands of South Dakota. Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool Little Wolf "Cool Little Wolf"
Respected warrior and chief of the Northern Cheyenne tribe of Montana. Fought with the Sioux and Arapaho tribes. Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool Nixon "Cool Nixon"
Richard M. Nixon, President of the United States during some of the most difficult of times, like the Vietnam War era. While he made great strides to improve foreign relations with China, he will unfortunately be remembered for the "Watergate Scandal", which led to the end of his political career. However, compared to presidential scandals of today... "Tricky Dick" was a veritable Saint. Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool One Bull "Cool One Bull"
Well-known warrior and nephew of the great Sioux chief, Sitting Bull. Click on thumbnail to preview a larger image.

Cool Sitting Bull "Cool Sitting Bull"
Great warrior, chief and medicine man of the Great Sioux nation. Sitting Bull was present at the Battle of the Little Bighorn, wherein Lt. Colonel George Armstrong Custer and his Seventh Cavalry regiment were soundly defeated in June 1876, due largely to a number of grave tactical mistakes and an overwhelming number of Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapaho natives encamped along the Little Bighorn River in southeastern Montana. Cool Washington "Cool Washington"
I don't think there is anyone who doesn't recognize George Washington (just look in your wallet). Washington was one of the founding fathers of the United States, was the commander of the Colonial Army during the Revolutionary War, and was the first elected President of the United States.
